January 3, 2009:
Hello my dear Guests! How were your New Year's Eve celebrations? Please leave me a message and let me know you survived! I'm hesitant to mention it, but Lazarus has posted a review of John Carpenter's Halloween. A big fan of Halloween? You might do well to read Craigslist instead then as this is no pleasant review. We're also experiencing some difficulties with uploading images at the moment. Please forgive this interruption. Everything will be back to good soon. December 31, 2008: On this eve of the new year, I wish you all peace and prosperity! Lazarus has posted a review of 30 Days of Night in the movie review section. Our roving vampiric ambassador, CryptKicker, has posted a journal entry chronicling his recent journey to Seattle during which he visited several intriguing Goth venues. Happy New Year, my dear Guests!! December 23, 2008: Appropriate for this day when the whole world seems cold and snow-bound, our phenomenal new cryptozoology research writer, Sami Tayag, has posted her Yeti entry, available for viewing in the Cryptopedia. Stop by and learn a thing or two about the Abominable Snowman! Artists, you’re welcome to submit your interpretations of the Yeti in a 550px wide by 350px tall format (jpg, gif, or png). Your art and name will be displayed on the entry page, and a link will be provided to your website! December 21, 2008: Happy Winter Solstice!! Enjoy your longest night of the year. Spread some Solstice happiness by sending a Solstice ecard from the Winter Holiday section. December 19, 2008: Excellent news! Count Kaufman of the Crypticon was kind enough to allow me an interview for our next Featured Guest spot. Look for this interview in early January of our new year. December 16, 2008: More holiday greetings have been added to the ecard section. Just in time for the Winter Solstice on Sunday, December 21st, a Winter Solstice greeting has been suggested by Guest Tlinbo and created by Chateau Grrr. And a winter wish for a hot holiday has also been added. Be sure to make those suggestions all over the site! They are heard. December 12, 2008: MESSAGING!! We now have messaging between Guests! Check-in and give it a try!! Thank you, iToris! Hallelujah! Our Lazarus has returned to once more, and perhaps even a little less cranky. He submitted his review of the 2004 remake of Dawn of the Dead this morning after a good long steam. Read! Comment!! Enjoy!!! December 11, 2008: Hello my dear Guests! Please welcome horror author and martial arts expert Mr. Jonathan Maberry as our Featured Guest! And don't forget that you're always welcome to share your thoughts on the exclusive interview in the "comments" section. December 7, 2008: I am disappointed to report that Lazarus is still on hiatus, but it is my honor to bring you the latest movie review of Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed. Please take a moment to read it and leave your comments! December 6, 2008: Even more ecards have been added to our growing repertoire of greetings! Check the Christmas section for more holiday options and look for the new Cemetery Postcards section for original photographic postcards of cemeteries around the world! December 2, 2008: Check the ecard section for some new custom-made Chateau Grrr greetings!! November 28, 2008: Lazarus is on a short sabbatical, so I have filled in for him during his absence. I've posted my review of the Bride of Frankenstein. Please remember as you read that reviews are not my strong suit. Lazarus is missed. There are so many new little tweaks that have happened recently. Photos now include captions! iToris is seeking a solution for mass photo uploads, but it is looking grim for Firefox. Journals and all posts will now accept links. These must be properly formatted HTML links that open a blank page. Please see the Help section for a sample of how to add links to your posts. The rating system has a new look that jives with the rest of the site. And finally, comments to comments may now be added. Get in there, read some posts, and add your thoughts!! November 27, 2008: Happy Thanksgiving to All! November 27, 2008: The amazing artist, Bruno Werneck, has just contributed several breath-taking paintings for the Cryptopedia. Be sure to check them out, particularly the haunting Mothman piece. For more spectacular art, visit Bruno's site by clicking on his name just below the image caption. November 23, 2008: Our roving vampiric ambassador, CryptKicker, visited Crypticon last weekend and has (finally) submitted his report. Check his journal and gallery for thoughts and photos from the Crypticon featuring Doug Jones, John Kassir, and Chris Sarandon. Links are not currently working in journal entries; my apologies. These will be working shortly. Take the opportunity to see how links should be input in HTML if you're unfamiliar with it. Captions are now available in the Gallery section. Put words to the images of your life! Have an ailing friend? Send them one of our new Get Well ecards available in the Ecards section! November 21, 2008: Kahloo kahlay!! The registration process has been completely overhauled. To those of you who have already registered, I thank you for persevering through what was a mildly painful process. To those of you considering registration, it's now fun and easy!! Next up...the ability to communicate one with another. Enjoy your November!! In addition to the new registration process, Lazarus has posted his review of the movie, The Grudge, and given it his lowest rating yet! November 13, 2008: Our dear friend Lazarus has submitted his most recent movie review, this one of Hostel. Be sure to stop in and check it out. November 11, 2008: At last, our first interview with Featured Guest Rosemary Ellen Guiley is ready for your enjoyment. Please be patient; there are some bugs that cause the page to load slowly. These will be ironed out in short order by our ever-crafty friends at iToris. Please enjoy the interview and make sure to visit Rosemary's site, visionaryliving.com, for more information on upcoming lectures and appearances. November 4, 2008, Election Day: If you live in the United States of America and have not yet done so, PLEASE get out and vote! October 31, 2008, Hallowe'en : Let me be the first to wish you a very happy Hallowe'en, my dear friends! I have received word from the wonderful iToris that the Featured Guest section is nearly complete. My chat with the amazingly articulate Rosemary Ellen Guiley will be up soon! In other news, our cantankerous friend Lazarus has posted his Hallowe'en movie review of A Nightmare on Elm Street. Please pay the Movie Review section a visit and leave a comment for our zombie-critic. Thank you to all of you guests who have taken the time to share your ideas with everyone here at Chateau Grrr. Your time is greatly appreciated. Have an enjoyable holiday!! Mister Mist October 29, 2008: Coming up soon! Comments upon comments! When you post a comment, someone will soon be able to comment upon your comment. October 26, 2008: Check out the recent posts in recipes and decor! And be sure to post your own ideas too!! Share your ideas on recipes, party games, decoration tips, and anything else you've found helpful during the Hallowe'en holiday!! October 23, 2008: Lazarus' most recent review has been posted in the Movie Reviews section, and our first Featured Guest, Rosemary Ellen Guiley, did a lovely interview last night for us. This will be posted near the end of October, hopefully just in time for Hallowe'en. Hope everyone has their costume selected! October 16, 2008: Hello dear Guest. Let me tell you about some exciting new features for Chateau Grrr on the horizon. Very soon, there will be a Featured Guest section, highlighting folks of interest to the community. Our first Featured Guest will be Rosemary Ellen Guiley, the First Lady of the Paranormal. Look for this exciting interview late October. Next up will be an internal email system so Guests can write each other. On the heels of this will be the Hordes feature (the ability to create groups of Guests, share group photos, and email an entire group of Guests). October 15, 2008: I am pleased to announce that Lazarus' movie review section is now operational. My sincere apologies for the delay. Please enjoy my dear undead friend's comments on the horror genre, starting with the classic (and possibly only positive review) Nosferatu. October 6, 2008: Welcome All! It's so lovely to see so many wonderful people here already. Now let's start posting and sharing those ideas! I know you each have much better ideas than I. Chateau Grrr emails are now functioning and it's not long before Lazarus' reviews are also up and running. Be warned; he's a curmudgeon. October 4, 2008: While not all features are up and running, the core of Chateau Grrr is functional and stable. You'll notice that email addresses leading to Chateau Grrr are not currently functioning nor can we yet enjoy Lazarus' excellent movie reviews, but these issues will be resolved shortly. Until then, please enjoy all the other features of our little Gothic Get-Away. October 3, 2008: Thanks to the terrific efforts of the folks at iToris and SingleHop, Chateau Grrr is undead and loving it. Please visit the registration area and sign-up for your free Chateau Grrr account! October 3, 2008: Happy Witching Hour to All!! Chateau Grrr is open; however, you'll have to excuse several bugs, the largest of which is the Registration Page is not working. This and other bugs will be corrected very shortly. Thanks for your patience. September 15, 2008: Chateau Grrr is set to open on Friday the 3rd of October. If you've found this page before this date, please feel free to look around, but please do not yet register. Chateau Grrr proprietor, Mister Mist, is quite excited at the prospect of the early October launch. The wonderful iToris is to be thanked for the smoothly functioning features! |
