Votive-can
This votive candle holder is good for indoors or outdoors, and because it is a reused item, it is eco-friendly as well.

Outdoor
AGE:
Adult
MATERIALS:
a clean & empty coffee or food can
an awl (a punch tool or a small phillips head screwdriver may even work)
hammer
candle
metal spray paint
a sturdy, well-sealed bag of rice or beans
DIRECTIONS:
1. Spray paint your can your color of choice and let dry completely. Darker colors will help your design stand out.
2. Fill can with water and put in freezer until water is frozen solid. While you wait, think of designs you may want to use. Examples: a devil face would look good on a red can, an alien face on a green can, a simple moon and stars on a black can, etc.
3. Remove can from freezer and lay on its side on the bag of rice (this helps it not roll around as you are working).
4. With a pencil, mark where you want the holes for the design to be (keep in mind the width of your awl or punch, so you know how much to space them out).
5. Carefully use the hammer and awl to punch your holes. Let the ice melt, pour out water, dry and put in candle.

Thanks! I was having a hard time with the can bending. This really works great & it would not have crossed my mind!
