Chilly con Candy Corn
These tasty frozen shakes will have your guests murmuring, "That's one mighty good shake".

They're particularly good for afternoon parties in the early Fall when the sun is still warm and the air is jsut beginning to hum with the magic of Autumn.

TYPE:
Beverage, non-alcoholic
RECIPE YIELD:
12
PREP TIME:
30 m.
READY IN:
30 m.
INGREDIENTS:
1/2 gallon vanilla ice cream
1/2 gallon pumpkin ice cream or orange sorbet
1 16 ounce container of ready-made whipped cream topping
1 tube yellow food coloring
1 tube red food coloring
12 spoon-straws or long plastic spoons (orange is best)
1 bag traditional candy corn
DIRECTIONS:
1. Soften both containers of ice cream for 15-20 minutes. As the ice cream softens, prepare 12 clear party cups.
2. Mix 4 drops of yellow food coloring into the vanilla ice cream. Mix 3 drops yellow food coloring and 1 drop red food coloring into the pumpkin ice cream (if orange sorbet is used, no food coloring is necessary).
3. Spoon yellow vanilla ice cream into the bottom third of each cup. If this cannot be done neatly, try putting the ice cream into a large sandwich bag with a zipper, cut a hole in the corner, and squeeze the ice cream neatly into the bottom of each cup.
4. Spoon or squeeze the orange pumpkin ice cream or sorbet into the second third of each cup.
5. Place all cups into the freezer to set until needed.
6. Remove cups 15 minutes prior to being served, top with whipped cream topping, and garnish with candy corns. Serve with spoon straws or long plastic spoons.
