The costumed-crowd packed around the small stage at Kinetic Playground, eager to see the spectacle that had been billed as a burlesque monster costume fashion show. Chicago dancer Dollface lay motionless on a dimly-lit raised slab in the back of the stage. As the eerie music of Nick Jones grew louder, her arms slowly raised. Old lace and satin spilled about her as she swung her heavily booted legs around and, with the coordination of a patchwork monster, stood. Cheers and hoots erupted from the crowd....
