how i'd change the world
Why I'd fill it with comfortable rooms and entertaining diversions for my many friends, much like I've done here. Some day, I hope to create a real place where people can come for the weekend and enjoy my eccentric notions of fun; a real Chateau set high amongst the tombstones and tangleweeds, with a deathly black wine cellar below, and a creaking complaining attic above. The food is succulent and the atmosphere electric. Some day, you'll be able to visit my dream as you're visiting this one now.
what makes hallowe'en so great
The crisp air, tingling with the energy of the dying earth; the ripe and round pumpkins glowing orange from their dewy posts; the black raven that hops about, head cocked to one side, eyeing you knowingly, suspiciously; the moon slipping silently through the tangled tree branches against a blue-black Fall sky. These are but a taste of the wonders that make Hallowe'en so magical.
what my age has done to my thinking
Oh my age has definitely mellowed my thinking considerably. My youth spent in New York at the turn of the century (not this but last) was filled with misplaced ambitions and half-realized hopes. It wasn't until long after my death in fact that I realized what life is all about... people. As I bobbed peacefully in the cold waters of the Atlantic, fish nipping curiously at my waving hair, cement shoes about my feet, I suddenly found direction. A short lifetime and a long afterlife later, I present Chateau Grrr to not only my closest friends and family, but to all people who wish to enjoy each other's company by the warm glow of a fire under an eternally Autumn sky.
