How to Register, Check-in, or Check-out You may register, check-in, or check-out from a variety of places throughout Chateau Grrr. No matter which page you are on, you have the option to register, check-in, or check-out. To register from the Front Page, click the bright yellow “Register” button. To register from inside the Chateau Grrr site, click the red “Click to Register” button in the left side menu. Both areas will direct you to the Registration Page. Fill in all the input fields on the right side of the page. All fields are madatory. Please note, you must be 18 years of age in order to register for and use Chateau Grrr services. Once all the fields are completed, you must agree to the Chateau Grrr Terms of Service by clicking the check-box next to the “Register” button. If you agree to the Chateau Grrr Terms of Service and you affirm that you are 18 years of age or older, press the “Register” button. You will be directed to your Guest Profile. For help on completing your optional Guest Profile, please see the “How to Complete your Guest Profile” help section. If you have already registered and would like to check-in from the Front Page, fill in the Guest Name and Password input fields. Once complete, click the bright yellow “Check-in” button. You will be directed to your Guest Profile page. To check-in from inside the Chateau Grrr site, fill in the Guest Name and Password input fields in the left side menu. Once complete, click the purple “Check-in” button. You will be directed to your Guest Profile page. How to Edit Your Profile One of the first things you'll want to do with your new Chateau Grrr account is fill out your profile information and upload photos. To do this, click the "Edit Your Profile" button on the left. This will take you into your editable profile where you can choose settings, upload photos and your avatar, post journal entries and much much more. Once your profile is filled out as much as you like, look around and explore. There's plenty to do and see. If you wish to post content to the community forums, please see "Posting Content" below. How to Select or Change your Profile Avatar If you are not already checked-in, do so by using the “How to Register, Check-in, and Check-out” help section. Click the Edit Profile tab on the left-hand menu. Of the top tabs above your profile, click the Edit Gallery tab. If you do not already have any photos uploaded, upload them using the “How to Upload Photos to your Gallery” help section. Select the photo you’d like to use for your avatar and click the word “Avatar” next to it. This sets the photo as your avatar. Square avatars are the best as your avatar photo will be reformatted to fit a 250x250 square area. How to Make a Submission If you are not already checked-in, do so by using the “How to Register, Check-in, and Check-out” help section. Click on any of the top tombstone sections in which you’d like to submit an idea. Recipes, stories, d?cor, party ideas, crafts, fangs, costumes, and haunted attractions all accept Guest submissions. Once you’re checked-in and you’ve selected a section, you’ll notice the “Submit and Idea” button in the near-left menu is active. Click this button. Fill out all the input fields for your submission. Most sections require all input fields be completed before allowing the submission. On all submissions, you must first agree to and acknowledge the Copyright Policy check-box next to the “Submit” button. Tags are not required in any submission, but do help search engines categorize and find your idea. If you choose to use tags, please separate words with commas. If you’ve filled in all input fields and checked the Copyright Policy agreement box, but your submission is not accepted, check the top of the page for a large bright green message indicating what the problem might be. If you’re still not able to submit your idea, please write help@chateaugrrr.com How to Include a Link in your Submission When submitting an idea, it is possible to include a link in your submission by adding the following HTML code: <a href="http://www.google.com" target="_blank">My Favorite Search Engine</a> The first portion of the code in the quotation marks following <a href= is the address. Write the complete address, including the http portion, of the link you’d like. In the example above, “http://www.google.com” will link to Google. The second portion of the code in quotation marks following target= is how the link will open. Use the word “blank” so guests can open a new browser window to view your link. The third portion of the code between > and </a> is the text you would like to appear. In the example above, the text “My Favorite Search Engine” will appear on which guests can click to access your link. How to Use the Recipes Units Field When submitting a recipe idea, you can use the “Units” field to choose the unit of measurement for your ingredient; however, it is not necessary to use units nor are all possible units available in the dropdown menu. If the dropdown menu does not contain a unit of measurement you’d like to use, simply list it in the ingredient input field. How to Return to the Front Page To return to the Front Page of Chateau Grrr, click on the Chateau Grrr logo in the upper left corner of the site. This will return you to the Front Page. If you are not checked-in, you may do so from the Front Page, or visit the Registration Page to check-in or register. If you are checked-in, you will remain checked-in while on the Front Page so there’s no need to check-in again. How to Send an Ecard If you are not already checked-in, do so by using the “How to Register, Check-in, and Check-out” help section. Once inside Chateau Grrr, click the top tombstone tab “Ecards”. From the near left menu or from the featured categories section in the center, choose a category of ecard. For instance, if you wish to send a Hallowe’en ecard, select Hallowe’en from the near left menu or the Hallowe’en button from the center section. When presented with all the ecards available for that category, choose an ecard by clicking the preview. How to Submit Ideas and Suggestions for Chateau Grrr From inside Chateau Grrr, click the “Be Heard” button in the left side menu. Fill in the large input field with your thoughts, suggestions, comments, critiques, or complaints. No matter what it is, we at Chateau Grrr want to hear from you.
